Nuits-Saint-Georges Blanc 2014
Soil and climate
Clay and limestone; cold soil with clay on the surface and limestone rock below, facing south-east.
Pinot blanc, qualitative rootstock.
Average age: 25 years, 10,000 plants / ha. Yield: 37 hl / ha
Sustainable and environmentally conscious culture
Pressing in whole grapes with a light settling with immediate breaking into barrels. Alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and malolactic in foudres.
On lees, reductive in foudres without racking, with riddling without SO2 for 12 months.
White wine made from the Pinot blanc grape variety. It is an “albino” Pinot noir, because if it is white, it has all the characteristics of Pinot: fleshy and mineral, its saline finish with fruity and floral aromas gives it a side of “red”. It ages very well by coating and gaining finesse.
