Pinot Réserve 2017
When respected in the vineyard and cellar, Pinot Blanc is one of the greatest white wine grapes. The grape is more neutral like a Chardonnay or Aligoté, but can elevate a special terroir and be a constant reliable pairing, transcending many cuisines and cultures.
The Dirler-Cadés source their Pinot Blanc from the Bollenberg lieu-dit, a marl and sandstone site overlooking the town of Orschwihr. This site stands apart from the Vosges mountains, benefiting from sunshine throughout the day. This Pinot Blanc “Réserve” clearly represents its place and vintage. Fermented and briefly matured in foudres, the wine is bottled quickly to preserve its nutty lithe edge and green apple tone.
