Turenne

The family winery from the early 20th century experienced changes from the arrival of Philippe Bénézet in 1990. Deeply rooted in the south and in love with these Var landscapes, he decided to devote himself to these vineyards.

He now has 20 hectares planted with the main Côtes-de-Provence grape varieties: Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault, Petite Clairette du Var and Rolle (Vermentino).

More than half of these vines date from the 60s and 70s. Some are much older, like Petite Clairette du Var, an indigenous grape variety, which dates from 1903. Old vines give small yield, at Turenne average 40 hl/ha.
